Drawing up a long-term life plan is quite an important aspect for achieving your goals and objectives. This allows you not only to see before your eyes what you are striving for all the time, but also to correctly set your life priorities. However, writing on a piece of paper something like: “I want to get rich in a year” is not enough. Making a plan is a rather time-consuming and important process that will not bring results if done incorrectly.
Why make a plan?
Living this year happier than the previous one is the main point of making a plan. First of all, writing on paper should lead us to a happy life, as well as support our self-development and growth. You must continually strive to improve your quality of life, wherever you are, by improving your self-image and increasing your self-esteem.
Life planning helps structure our development and constantly pushes us towards our intended goal. With the help of a plan, you can divide one large task into small components, after which it becomes much easier to achieve great results. Constantly planning our day forces us to do the most necessary things that do not seem particularly pleasant.
Assess the required resources
Let's get down to business. Great intentions and dreams are good, but to flesh out and fully live this life project, you will need resources.
When it comes to money, we strive to finance life, and it is on this scale that financial goals should be set:
- Durable goods that do not depreciate in value and, once purchased, can be used for life (real estate, land, boat). But be careful, after purchasing them you have to think about the costs of maintenance, maintenance and storage, periodic repairs, energy consumption, insurance, maintenance, taxes. These costs must be properly estimated so that they are adequately covered by cash flow.
- Consumer goods that need to be updated regularly: subscriptions, services, car, household appliances, furniture.
- Daily budget and leisure: food, fuel, services, subscriptions and more.
When you estimate the money you will need to finance a life project, you should classify it into two categories:
- Capital: This is the price one has to pay to buy assets and durable goods.
- Cash Flow: Monthly budget will fund your lifestyle, daily and leisure budget, renewal of durable goods.
How to make a plan?
A life plan should be like a rough list of ideas. If you want to draw it up for next year, then start looking closely at your goals from the beginning of December. For example, if you want to learn to sing well, then it would be a good idea to take a few trial classes, so that next year it will be easier to gain the courage to attend courses.
The question of how to properly draw up a plan for life worries almost every person who is interested in self-development or wants to achieve high results. The main principle is that following the written algorithm of actions is not only useful, but also a joy. To do this, you will have to follow the basic principles of planning, which will be described in the following sections.
